A spokesperson for the Kantar Group subsidiary refused to disclose any further details, saying only that she was now “on gardening leave”.

Duffy joined TNS in January 2012 replacing Andrew Czarnowski. A marketer by background, Duffy had previously led the Newspaper Marketing Agency (NMA) which she joined in 2003. Before that, she worked in television for both the BBC and ITV.

There have been some senior management changes since Duffy joined and in March last year Richard Ingleton was appointed as global CEO, replacing Eric Salama.

Duffy could not be reached for comment.
