UK – Ipsos Mori has resumed face-to-face research following a trial and the implementation of Covid-19 safety features.

The research firm said that a trial of data collection models and processes for face-to-face research had been “highly successful”, with most participants interviewed being very responsive to Ipsos Mori fieldworkers.

Socially distant doorstep interviews, telephone interviews and video interviews will all be used by Ipsos Mori following the return to fieldwork.

Safety measures include a health screening questionnaire, maintaining social distancing, use of hand sanitiser and gloves, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.

No Ipsos Mori fieldwork staff will enter research participants’ homes.

Lisa Hazelden, managing director for face-to-face field at Ipsos Mori, said: “Our interviewers are raring to go and we have incorporated best practice from across the world to develop our new ways of working.

“The health and welfare of our staff and the public are paramount, and we feel confident in the new safety measures we have in place.”

The Market Research Society last week launched guidance on the return to face-to-face research, and a Viewing Facilities Action Group has also been set up by viewing facility I-view to ensure safety precautions are properly implemented.
