Nielsen Q1 revenues climb 3% to $1.34bn
Its consumer research arm, Buy, was up 2.7% to $800m, with growth in developing markets outpacing the more sluggish developed ones, particularly western Europe. Operating income fell year-on-year to $35m, from $53m, primarily due to higher restructuring charges and increases in depreciation and amortisation, Nielsen said.
Watch, the media research arm, grew 2.6% to $480m, driven by TV measurement. Operating income increased to $108m, from $93m.
