Nielsen wins Czech Republic TV measurement contract

CZECH REPUBLIC — Nielsen has been appointed by the Czech Republic’s Association for Television Audience Measurement (SPMS) to measure television viewing nationally.

Viewing data will be collected from a sample of 1,900 homes, chosen to represent the full demographics of the country. Sample households will have electronic push-button meters, called Nielsen Peoplemeters, installed on each television in their home.

Recruitment will begin in April 2013, with the first TV ratings expected to be delivered to subscribers in November 2013.

Alain Couttolenc, lead for Nielsen Media in Europe, said: “The Czech Republic is a high priority market in our European deployment strategy. As television viewing behaviour evolves and changes, this continues our efforts to provide advertisers across the globe with the most accurate and technologically advanced measurement systems available in order to assess their return on investment.”
