Finch (pictured) will take responsibility for RSMB’s work on Rajar,( Radio Joint Audience Research), the joint industry currency for radio audience measurement. She takes over from Anne Robshaw, who is leaving RSMB after 17 years with the company.

In Finch’s role, she will oversee RSMB’s work on Rajar quality control, sampling, weighting, processing, and reporting of the UK’s radio listening.

She has previously held senior commercial and insight roles overseeing and applying media research at PamCo, NRS, Bauer Radio and Capital Radio (now Global).

RSMB has been awarded a two-year extension to its Rajar contract. This year also marks the beginning of a new six-year Barb contract and Barb has also rolled out extended reporting of trading audiences on CFlight, using RSMB methodology.

Finch’s expertise includes adapting industry currencies in line with changes in the media landscape and managing the day to day operation of industry measurement data.

Chris Mundy, chief executive, RSMB, said: “Alison has a wide range of skills and brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Having worked at the NRS and then PAMCo, she has experience in delivering smooth operation of industry currency and having worked previously at Bauer and Capital she understands how audience data is used by the business.

“She also brings expertise in media owner commercial operations which will be extremely helpful as we continue to develop our services.”

Jointly owned by Kantar and Havas, London-based RSMB offers statistical audience research solutions for the industry, including Barb TV audience measurement and the IPA Touchpoints planner.
