Based in Berlin, ‘The Apartment’ offers a furnished, home-like environment for market research. It includes viewing rooms and cameras to allow stakeholders to observe respondent activity.

Research conducted in the space can also be observed through video insights from FocusVision.

Stephan Lange, managing director of Schmiedl Marktforschung, said the facility offers “an alternative, in-context research space”.

He added: “The real-life, yet controlled environment allows respondents to engage with brands within their own natural social units – participating both in the moment and through self-report.”

Launched in 1985, Schmiedl Marktforschung was acquired by Schlesinger in 2012. The company has focus group facilities and offices in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.
