Sorrell’s pay rejected by a fifth of WPP investors
At yesterday’s WPP AGM in London, 21% of shareholders either voted against or abstained in the vote over this £48m pay package. Among those shareholders voicing concern were Hermes Investment Management and the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum.
Last year his £72m pay package – one of the biggest in UK companies – was opposed by a third of shareholders.
The 2016 package was the final one under a five year plan involving a long-term incentive scheme, Leap.
