Accenture buys data firm Byte Prophecy

INDIA – Professional services company Accenture has acquired India-based automated insights and data analytics company Byte Prophecy for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2011, Byte Prophecy is based in Ahmedabad and employs around 50 data scientists and data engineers.

The company will become part of Accenture Applied Intelligence following the deal, bolstering Accenture’s operations in areas including data foundations, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, and expanding client services in emerging markets.

The two have worked together on advanced data and analytics projects since 2018, via Accenture Ventures.

Athina Kanioura, chief analytics officer at Accenture and global lead for Applied Intelligence, said: "Our team has already been working with Byte Prophecy over the past two years, and together we’ve helped clients build the strong data foundations that are the cornerstone for successful AI adoption.

"Officially making Byte Prophecy’s people and capabilities part of Accenture is a testament to the shared vision of shared success we’ve seen in our joint efforts."

Mrugank Parikh, co-founder, Byte Prophecy, said working with Accenture has helped the company to "fine-tune" its service, adding: "The opportunity to become part of Accenture Applied Intelligence will enable us to jointly build stronger assets and expand our services to more clients in the emerging markets."
