Arbitron COO Creamer to replace Kerr as CEO
Arbitron extended Kerr’s contract to January 2013 in 2011, with chairman Philip Guarascio praising his leadership through a series of “extraordinary” events since he took over in January 2010.
Creamer has been EVP and COO since August 2011 and joined Arbitron in September 2005 as EVP of finance and planning. He has also been the firm’s CFO and EVP of US media services during his seven years with the company and was appointed to the Arbitron board of directors in August 2012. Prior to joining Arbitron, Creamer was SVP and CFO of Laureate Education.
Guarascio said: “Sean is a seasoned media and marketing executive with years of leadership experience at Arbitron. We would like to thank Bill Kerr on behalf of everyone at Arbitron for his many contributions to the company as president and CEO.”
Kerr, who will continue to serve on the Arbitron board of directors, added: “An important priority throughout my three-year tenure as Arbitron CEO has been to build a strong team of senior executives. In his time as COO, as head of US media services and as CFO, Sean has consistently demonstrated he possesses the skills, temperament and vision necessary to lead Arbitron.”
