Basis signs MRS CEO Pledge
The pledge makes five commitments to increasing diversity and safety in the workplace as part of MRS’s Manifesto for Opportunity.
Among the five commitments are to publish salary statistics annually and to pursue pay parity, and to work towards ensuring staff are reflective of the diversity of the UK population.
Other commitments in the pledge include working towards meeting government targets on inclusion of women and Black, Asian and minority ethnic people at board and executive level, and to make recruitment more representative.
The final commitment is to create safe workplaces, such as by supporting whistleblowing and good mental health.
The pledge has been signed by 26 organisations since it was launched last year.
Rune Mortensen, group chief executive of Basis, said: “We believe that all of us share the responsibilities, and opportunities, associated with making our industry more diverse. To make this happen, we need more than words – we need a concerted, collective and consistent effort to get there.
“With that in mind, we are delighted to join the MRS pledge, and look forward to working with others to make real, tangible progress.”
Jane Frost, chief executive of MRS, said: “The CEO Pledge is a truly visible indicator that a company is committed to delivering real diversity and creating an inclusive place to work.
“I am delighted to welcome Basis to the growing community of agencies that have signed up “
