Basis Social rebrands to The Social Agency after management buyout
Basis Research established its social research practice in 2021 when former Kantar Insights co-chief executive Bhattachary and Clay, previously managing partner at SECNewgate, joined the business to lead Basis Social.
Following the MBO, the London-based team is being retained, and Basis Social has rebranded to The Social Agency.
The business will continue to focus on research for public health and wellbeing, sustainability, democratic renewal and equity and inclusion in the UK and internationally.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Commenting on the transaction, Basis Social chief executive Darren Bhattachary said: “I’d like to wholeheartedly thank the Basis Research Group for supporting us over the past few years.
“We have grown into a thriving business which is delivering award-winning research for public and third sector clients. This is a very exciting next step in our journey, as we help our clients deliver real change in the world by using research for good.”
