BBC appoints Microsoft’s Davies
Davies joins the broadcaster from Microsoft UK, where he is currently consumer marketing director, leading marketing activity for consumer technology brands.
He will be responsible for the marketing and audience teams for the BBC’s content, radio and education divisions, which oversee all of the broadcaster’s network TV channels and radio stations, iPlayer and BBC Sounds.
He takes up the new role in March, reporting to chief customer officer Kerris Bright.
Prior to joining Microsoft in 2007, Davies held marketing roles at Direct Line and More Th>n.
Bright said: “I’m delighted that Paul will be joining us in such a pivotal role as we re-invent the BBC for a new generation. Paul is a proven marketing leader with creative flair and tech expertise, and he will bring a fresh and future focused perspective to the BBC Marketing team.”
