Changes to WFA leadership team

GLOBAL – The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) has appointed new members to its leadership team, including Conny Braams as deputy president.

Braams (pictured), chief digital and marketing officer at Unilever, will become deputy president on 1st December, taking over from Phil Myers, senior vice-president for global public policy and government affairs at PepsiCo.

Myers will remain on the WFA’s executive committee, and Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer at Mastercard, has been re-elected as president for a second term, running until April 2023.

Firdaus Shariff has been made the WFA’s first regional vice-president for the Middle East, and is currently vice-president of marketing, communications and digital customer experience, Middle East and Africa, at Schneider Electric.

The WFA has also appointed Lubomira Rochet, chief digital officer at L’Oréal, will be regional vice-president for Europe.

Other people to have joined the executive committee include Cristina Diezhandino, chief marketing officer at Diageo, Ekaterina Agafonova, global strategic sourcing director commerce at Heineken, and Russell Dyer, vice-president and chief of communications and government affairs at Mondelēz.

Aude Gandon, global chief marketing officer at Nestlé, and Fabrice Beaulieu, executive vice-president, group marketing excellence, at Reckitt, have also joined the WFA executive committee.

Susanne Kunz, Hanna Riberdahl and Luc Suykens will lead the national advertiser associations of Germany, Sweden and Belgium respectively.

Stephan Loerke, chief executive of the WFA, said: “We are truly fortunate that so many talented marketers and national advertiser association heads are willing to give their time to the WFA to help drive forward better marketing for the benefit of the industry, consumers and society.”
