Cisco to acquire audience tech company Slido
Slido’s platform allows audiences to take part in polls, Q&As, quizzes and surveys during meetings and events. The company has around seven million participants monthly.
Following the acquisition, the Slido technology will become part of Cisco’s Webex videoconferencing platform, allowing users to collect feedback before, during and after events, meetings, conferences and training sessions.
According to Cisco, the integration will improve its ability to offer audience engagement on the videoconferencing and online meetings tool.
The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed and the deal is yet to complete.
Abhay Kulkarni, vice-president/general manager, Webex Meetings at Cisco, wrote in a blog post: “The combination of the all-new Cisco Webex and Slido’s audience interaction expertise will make seamless collaboration and inclusivity a reality for meetings and events — whether in-person or virtual.”
