Dunnhumby MD exits for Tesco role

UK – Matt McLellan, managing director of customer data specialist dunnhumby, has left the company to take on the role of customer propositions director at Tesco.

McLellan is taking over from Toby Horry who has left the supermarket giant after three years. Horry is understood to have a new job, yet to be announced.

McLellan has been at dunnhumby for 14 years. He joined from Safeway as client manager in 2004. A series of promotions followed until he became managing director for Asia in 2012 and then for the UK last year.

Michelle McEttrick, group brand director at Tesco, said in a statement: "Matt brings a unique combination of customer data and insight, retail passion and Tesco knowledge."
