Facebook files lawsuit against data analytics firm
Facebook announced on Friday ( 10 May) that it had filed a lawsuit against the company, which ran apps on the Facebook platform.
Facebook said the firm did not co-operate with an audit to verify its compliance with the social network’s data policies, which is mandatory for all developers using the platform.
Apps and accounts associated with Rankwave have been suspended.
Jessica Romero, director of platform enforcement and litigation at Facebook, said in the statement: “By filing the lawsuit, we are sending a message to developers that Facebook is serious about enforcing our policies, including requiring developers to cooperate with us during an investigation.”
