Genius Sports acquires Spirable

UK – Sports, betting and media tech and data company Genius Sports Limited has acquired creative performance platform Spirable for an undisclosed amount.

The deal will combine Genius Sports’ sports data and network with Spirable’s video platform. 

Genius Sports works as a data, technology and commercial partner to sports, betting and media organisations.

Spirable allows brands, agencies and rights holders to create, automate and optimise personalised content using live and contextual data, and artificial intelligence to distribute content across social and digital media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat.

Mark Locke, chief executive of Genius Sports, said: “We are delighted to add Spirable’s specialist capabilities to our rapidly expanding suite of fan engagement tools, combining official data feeds across hundreds of competitions with fully immersive video content.”

Ger O’Meara, chief executive of Spirable, said: “Together with Genius Sports, we will work to offer more valuable real-time content that will increase fan interaction and retention.”

Macfarlanes LLP acted as lead lawyers to Genius Sports on the acquisition.
