GfK audience measurement contracts in Belgium extended

GERMANY — The Belgium-based audience research organisation Centrum voor Informatie over de Media (CIM) has extended its contract with GfK to deliver television and radio audience measurement until the end of 2017.

GfK started measuring Belgium’s TV audience in January 1997. GfK will continue daily monitoring of 750 households in each region throughout 2016 and 2017, amounting to a total of 1,500 households across the whole of Belgium.

It began radio audience measurement in Belgium in 2005, and the radio contract with CIM is now extended until the end of 2017.

Kris Vloeberghs (pictured), managing director of GfK Belgium, said: “We will work in close collaboration with CIM to introduce engaging new features in TV audience measurement, while respecting existing conventions in the market.”

GfK currently delivers TV rating services in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal and has also signed major contracts in Brazil, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
