The POS role will include pet, optics and tyre retail panels while value-added services cover e-commerce content, discount ad tracking and technology research for investment firms.
Schanzer (pictured) has spent the past four years in GfK’s shopper & retail strategy team in North America. Prior to this, in 2004, he co-founded Interscope, a sales and marketing consultancy aimed at building brands through retail which was bought by GfK.
His other jobs have included working in investment banking, marketing at BestFoods and consulting roles at Information Resources and Meridian Consulting.
Gary Cofer, GfK’s regional chief commercial officer for North America, said: “Our POS tracking and value-added businesses provide top quality information and services to diverse clients, from contact lens manufacturers to Wall Street firms. We are fortunate to have a leader of Gary’s experience and wisdom to take these businesses to new levels.”
