US – Consumer insights business Toluna has acquired agile market research agency GutCheck for an undisclosed fee.

The acquisition will increase Toluna’s presence in North America and will allow GutCheck clients to access Toluna’s technology products, global panel and global services.

Toluna is the parent company of Harris Interactive and KuRunData. GutCheck’s tools will be integrated into Toluna’s end-to-end insights platform Toluna Start as a result of the acquisition.

Frédéric-Charles Petit, chief executive and founder at Toluna, said: “We are thrilled to bring GutCheck into the Toluna group and add to our research expertise in the growing North America market.

“Today marks another significant step in the execution of our client-centric strategy of combining the best of technology, the best of panel and the best of research services.”

Rob Wengel, chief executive officer at GutCheck, said: “By joining with Toluna, our clients will benefit from the value of a comprehensive insights experience.”
