Industry combines awards
The awards ceremonies run by the Market Research Society and the British Market Research Association are to be combined into a single event, which will be held in November.
The event will bring together the MRS’s awards for excellence and the BMRA’s awards for effectiveness and business achievement.
It will be held on the first night of The Research Show, the MR trade fair run by business publisher Centaur. Centaur’s Marketing Week magazine is media partner and sponsor.
The awards’ categories, which have yet to be confirmed, will be judged by a cross industry panel representing buyers, suppliers and ad agency planners.
David Barr, director-general of the MRS, said the awards will represent all sectors of MR. “Excellence and effectiveness should be encouraged and recognised,” he said.
Peter Jackling, the new chairman of the BMRA, said the event will become the definitive awards for market research. “This is important to help raise awareness of the value and contribution of market research to business success,” he said.
