Ipsos launches accessibility service ahead of EU law changes

FRANCE – Ipsos has partnered with digital accessibility firm CurbCutOS to release accessible user experience (UX) audit services to help businesses meet changes in EU legislation.

EU Commission

The service comes ahead of the implementation of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which will mandate all businesses working in the EU, regardless of location, to make sure digital products and services, such as websites, applications and devices, are accessible to disabled people by 28th June 2025.

Ipsos and CurbCutOS’s Accessible UX Audit service provides a three-step process that identifies accessibility gaps in websites, apps, devices and documents.

To verify these gaps, an automated audit is then carried out, supplemented by an evaluation and usability tests with disabled users.

Ipsos then works with the organisation to deliver a plan for future improvement by prioritising recommendations and helping them address challenges with effective design solutions.

Yana Beranek, global UX leader at Ipsos, said: “Going beyond automated scanning for compliance, which we know misses many errors, Ipsos and CurbCutOS’s solution helps businesses meet EAA accessibility requirements.

“By integrating real-world experiences of people with disabilities, accessibility expertise and decades of UX experience, our Accessible UX Audit ensures comprehensive solutions for digital accessibility.”

Mark Pound, chief executive officer at CurbCutOS, said: “We are excited to bring this opportunity to the world’s leading brands, emphasising that digital accessibility goes beyond compliance – it’s a business imperative.

“By embracing accessibility, we create more inclusive experiences that enhance products and services for everyone, ultimately strengthening emotional connections and fostering brand loyalty.”
