Ipsos revenue declines for 2018

FRANCE – Ipsos’ revenue dipped by 1.7% to €1.7bn in 2018, although it achieved organic growth of 0.7%.

Currency fluctuations in relation to the euro reduced its revenue by 4.1%, the company said in its annual results statement.

The company posted revenue of €536m in the final quarter of 2018 – a 4.5% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, with the partial consolidation of GfK and Synthesio, which were acquired towards the end of the year, boosting performance.

The company’s largest business line, its consumer segment – which includes audience measurement and brand health – declined by 3.9% in 2018 (organic growth of -0.3%).

Regionally, EMEA, which comprises 44% of Ipsos, declined slightly in 2018 due to negative currency effects of 3%. The Americas region saw a substantial reduction in revenue of 5.1% compared to 2017, with the company’s performance remaining steady in the US but falling in Latin America.

Asia-Pacific, meanwhile, saw growth of 3.2%, generating 19% of Ipsos’ revenue for the year.
