Kelly Clark made GroupM global CEO
Clark (pictured) was a WPP lifer before leaving the company in 2015 when he was CEO of GroupM in North America. Other roles he’s held include CEO for Maxus between 2008 and 2012 and GroupM CEO for Europe. Clark began his WPP career at ad agency J Walter Thompson in New York in 1988.
GroupM also announced that its global president, Dominic Proctor was stepping down although he'll remain at WPP working on strategic projects. Proctor launched Mindshare around the world in 1997, and was named president of GroupM in 2012.
GroupM’s global chairman Irwin Gotlieb, said: "Kelly has demonstrated inspiring leadership at every turn in his career, and he has earned the respect of our clients and our people.
"Dominic helped make Mindshare and GroupM the successful global businesses they are today. It has been a great pleasure to work side by side with Dominic over many years and we all wish him the very best."
