Marks & Spencer appoints chief data officer
Pee (pictured) joins from Canadian retailer, Loblaw Companies, where he was senior vice-president.
He will join M&S in December to lead its business strategy and digital innovation, reporting to CEO, Steve Rowe. He will be responsible for all data and digital efforts and developing and embedding a modern digital mindset and culture across the business.
At Loblaw, he built its digital capabilities, creating a large team of experts in technology, data science, digital marketing and trading. Under his leadership, it launched a large online business. He has also held senior roles at office suppliers Staples.
The appointment follows a series of technology-focused partnerships with Microsoft, Founders Factory, Decoded and True which all bring unique expertise to M&S.
Steve Rowe, M&S CEO, said: “As we seek to become a digital first retailer, grow market share and change our digital behaviours, mindsets and culture, Jeremy is the right leader to deliver these changes and make M&S fit for the digital age.”
Pee will join M&S’s operating committee which covers digital innovation; customer insight; loyalty proposition and digital business development.
