NBCUniversal promotes Gonzalez to EVP

US – Media company NBCUniversal has named Will Gonzalez as executive vice-president and chief data officer, direct-to-consumer.

Gonzalez (pictured) will be responsible for the global data strategy for NBCUniversal’s US streaming platform Peacock, and will work closely with chief data officer John Lee and report to Gidon Katz, president, direct-to-consumer.

The team led by Gonzalez will build data tools that help personalise Peacock’s customer experience and provide data-driven insights to inform product and content decisions.

Before taking up his new role, Gonzalez was part of the Peacock launch team as senior vice-president, decision sciences.

Gonzalez joined NBCUniversal in 2017 as senior vice-president, enterprise business intelligence. Past companies include Sony and The New York Times.

Katz said: “With a focus on our international growth and expansion, we are thrilled to broaden Will’s role and team, which play an essential role in shaping our global streaming strategy.”
