New consultancy Do You Research launches
The business will offer research, consultancy, facilitation and training, with a focus on creating ‘safe spaces’ for participants, researchers and clients.
Do You Research will also run a podcast to explore the topic of ‘safety’ through a range of interviews.
Fryer-Smith (pictured) has operated as an independent consultant since 2015, working with brands and agencies, and prior to that spent several years at Ipsos Mori. She specialises in qualitative research methods, including film ethnography.
Since 2020, Fryer-Smith has also produced the ‘Unequal Truths’ podcast, featuring interviews with market research professionals who entered the sector from low-income backgrounds.
Fryer-Smith said: “Do You wants to shake up the research industry by partnering with brave clients who want to do the same. We want to create safe spaces for people to be themselves – the people we research, the clients we partner with and anyone else we encounter along the way – being explicitly inclusive and experimental in our work.
“The Do You podcast, launching this month, will explore what ‘safe’ looks and feels like for a variety of people with different professional and lived experiences. They will each share how they experience and create safety within their own practices, and how they create space for themselves. The hope is that we can all learn from guests how to improve the work that we do as researchers.”
