Xumo provides over-the-top (OTT), video on-demand (VOD) and live digital TV channels through smart TV, mobile and device integrations.

Part of Nielsen’s Total Audience Measurement framework, Digital Content Ratings measure audience segments across digital content types and devices using metrics similar to TV.

The addition of the company’s streaming data to Nielsen’s measurement will offer Xumo insights and custom reports on the platform’s reach, audience and time spent.

Chris Hall, senior vice president of product at Xumo, said: "This is an important move that allows our OTT platform to be measured side-by-side with established players in the traditional TV space."

Matt Pagen, senior vice-president of digital at Nielsen, said: "Nielsen remains committed to providing insight and transparency in the OTT space and helping buyers and sellers transact with confidence."
