Nielsen launches Total Pet Retail service in US

US – Measurement and data analytics company Nielsen has launched a service offering a combined view of the US pet retail market.

The service includes data on over 10,000 pet speciality stores through Nielsen’s All Outlets Combined measurement, in addition to non-speciality stores, regional chains, independent retailers and other outlets.

This data adds to the company’s existing services, including pet e-commerce measurement and Nielsen Homescan Panel data on pets.

Nielsen said the service is now the ‘most comprehensive’ within the pet retail industry.

Jeanne Danubio, president of Nielsen Connect, North America, said: “Nielsen’s Total US Pet Retail product portfolio reinforces our commitment to helping retailers and manufacturers grow in this critical segment, which is a hotbed for new product innovation and premiumisation.”
