Oppies open for entries with two new awards

UK – The MRS Operations Awards, known as ‘the Oppies’, has opened for entries, with two new categories for 2024 – Operations Future Leader and RAS Independent Recruiter of the Year.

Stars

The Operations Awards scheme celebrates organisations, teams and individuals on the operations and support side of the industry.

The new Operations Future Leader award category seeks to recognise individuals from the operations and support sector who are ‘rising stars’.

For the category, the judges are seeking nominations from employers championing employees who have worked in the sector for less than five years or will be aged under 30 as of 29 May 2024, and who are leading the path to future leadership with inspiring, supportive and innovative approaches to a project.

To qualify, the Future Leader must work in an operations-based role, either within a market research support service business or part of a larger organisation.

Another new award for 2024, RAS Independent Recruiter of the Year, will be given to the independent RAS accredited recruiter who best demonstrates their application of knowledge, skills and competence in the field of qualitative recruitment for a particular project.

The RAS (Recruiter Accreditation Scheme) is a training and accreditation scheme developed by MRS and the Association for Qualitative Research (AQR).

The deadline for entry to all Oppies categories is 4pm on Tuesday 29 May.

Jane Frost, chief executive, MRS, said: “The Oppies celebrates those who make things happen in the research sector, and is an opportunity to shine the spotlight the skills and innovations of the people who keep our sector relevant and delivering to clients ever-changing needs. That’s why I’m delighted that the new Operations Future Leader award will enable us to focus on the young people on whom our future as a sector hangs.

“Of course, clients need insight that is based on a supply chain that is accountable and expert. The new RAS Independent Recruiter of the Year acknowledges people who are the very bedrock of delivering that and recognises people who put real effort into delivering excellence to this core part of our insight offering.”
