OTX movie head fires up Screen Engine consultancy
Goetz will compete against his former employer in conducting screening research, exit polling and qualitative analysis for movie studios.
“Screen Engine will transcend the boundaries of data collection and allow me to focus entirely on what I do best, to partner with studios and filmmakers to identify ways to best leverage their films so that they achieve maximum success at the box office,” Goetz said.
He joined OTX in 2003 from NRG, now the entertainment industry research arm of Nielsen. In July 2008, he was elected a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Goetz’s departure and the launch of Screen Engine follows the sale of OTX to global research group Ipsos.
