Rentrak adds four local US TV stations to its client base
The partnership covers four main satellite stations providing both local and national coverage for US networks. These are Orlando’s WESH, part of NBC; WKCF, the CW-affiliated television station for Central Florida; WLKY in Louisville, for CBS and WMTW in Portland, for ABC.
The new agreement continues a successful year for the firm with milestones including a new partnership with MasterCard to combine viewing data with purchase information to aid the planning of ad campaign schedules, and the extension of its national TV measurement client base through the addition of the CW Television Network, Rentrak’s first broadcast network client.
It entered into a multi-platform contract with SnagFilms for OnDemand Essentials and Digital Download Essentials and expanding its TV measurement business to China through the formation of Sinotrak, with Chinese partner Sinomonitor. Rentrak (through Sinotrak) says it is the first company licensed by the Chinese government to measure viewing on all screens through digital devices in China.
The firm is led by CEO Bill Livek (pictured).
