Rentrak signs ratings contract with Iowa ABC affiliate

US — Rentrak has announced a multi-year local TV ratings contract with Capital Communications Company’s ABC-affiliate, WOI-DT, which airs in Des Moines, Iowa.

The deal comes two months after Rentrak signed its 200th station to its local TV ratings service.

Russ Hamilton, vice president and general manager of WOI-DT, said: “Working with local advertisers to develop efficient and effective ad schedules is key to our station’s success, and Rentrak’s stable TV ratings and consumer purchasing information will help us better organise and monetise our offerings.”

Cathy Hetzel, corporate president and president of advanced media and information at Rentrak (pictured), said: “Rentrak is pleased to begin working with Capital Communications Company and we look forward to providing WOI-DT with granular TV audience behaviour information combined with consumer purchase behaviour information.”

Last week, a mobile TV service backed by 12 major broadcast groups selected Rentrak to provide audience measurement services.
