Roberts departs F1 for Formula E
Roberts joined Formula One in 2017 with a remit to establish the organisation’s insights team.
At electric car motorsport series Formula E, Roberts will be responsible for all research and data analytics, with the overriding objective of providing insight to help increase fandom and commercial revenue for the business.
Prior to Formula One, Roberts led sports content insight at Sky and he has also held senior research roles at BT Sport, ESPN and Eurosport.
Roberts said: “I am thrilled to be joining the exciting world of Formula E. There is huge potential in this sport and I can't wait to support the business with insightful research and analytics which will help it move from business-to-business to a more consumer facing business.”
Formula One did not confirm whether anyone has been appointed to fill the research director role.
