Route names CEO
Mackay (pictured) is currently chief strategy officer at Route and will take up his new post in July following a handover period. Prior to joining Route in 2016, Mackay was director at Crowd DNA and also spent seven years at Kantar Media.
Turner is leaving Route to join the Institute of Practitioners in Research (IPA) as media research director.
The news comes ahead of the beginning of a seven-year contract with Ipsos and Adwanted UK in April that covers the collection, processing and output of audience data for OOH.
Route chair Katherine Almond said: “Euan was the obvious choice for our
new CEO. He has played a key role in the RFP process and his deep knowledge and expertise, along with his incredible ability to simplify complex concepts, meant that the board was unanimous in the decision to appoint him to the role.”
Denise Turner said: “Euan has embraced the huge changes in OOH with creativity and relish.
“Combined with significant management skills, flair and energy this means he is well placed to lead Route into the future, working in partnership with Route’s excellent team and the board.”
Mackay added: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead Route at an exciting time. The industry is in rude health, and Route is working with Ipsos and Adwanted to evolve our methods, data and delivery mechanisms to ensure that audience measurement for OOH advertising in Great Britain remains best in class globally.”
