UK – Research and strategy consultancy MTM has promoted Caroline Wren to the newly created role of managing director as managing partner Jon Watts steps down.

Wren (pictured) is one of the four founders of MTM’s integrated research and commercial strategy offer, which was launched in 2010.

MTM was founded in 2006 as a strategy consultancy business by Watts and Richard Ellis.

Watts is stepping back from involvement in day-to-day operations and moving to New York, where he will take on a new role as senior advisor to the company and run a number of projects.

Managing partners Ellis and James Bryson will lead and deliver business for the research and commercial strategy consultancy teams, respectively.

MTM said the changes were aimed at creating a broad base of skills within the agency as it looks to meet the needs of media and technology clients.

The company has also made two senior research appointments, with Kenny Cunniffe joining the quant team as associate director, and Eric Paice hired as qualitative research director.
