The Leading Edge closes London office
The company, which has offices in Sydney and London, is in the process of shutting down its UK office and will consolidate resources to run most of its clients from Sydney.
Research Live understands that several of the company’s London-based employees have been made redundant as a result of the closure.
The Leading Edge attributed the decision to uncertainty around Brexit, resulting in ‘clients being reluctant to commit budgets’.
Founded in 1990, The Leading Edge is part of Australian marketing services holding company Enero Group, which also owns PR agencies Hotwire and Frank and creative agency Orchard.
The agency's clients include Premier Foods, Kellogg’s and Bayer.
The company had a leadership change at the start of 2019, with Asia-Pacific CEO Gillian O’Sullivan becoming global chief executive and EMEA chief executive Chris Paxton moving to sister company Hotwire to become chief strategy officer.
O’Sullivan said: “TLE was founded in Sydney 30 years ago and expanded to the UK in 2010, but recently growth has been greater in APAC.
“We see our future growth opportunities in the APAC region. Many of our Australian clients have regional Asian offices, offering us greater opportunities.
“Over the past year The Leading Edge has worked in over 30 countries around the world, with mobile teams who can travel to wherever the client needs them, and we will continue this agile approach for any client who would like to work with us.”
