TNS and RI complete UK merger

UK— The merger of TNS’s UK custom division and Research International has been completed and the combined firm has been rebranded as TNS Research International UK.

The business will be led by chairman Paul Edwards and CEO Andrew Czarnowski (pictured), who said: “We are extremely excited about how complementary our two research businesses are to each other and and all the benefits merging the companies will offer our clients, employees and the business.”

The rebranded entity will be structured around sectors including consumer, technology, finance, business and consumer services, and travel and tourism.

TNS told Research that other countries are working to their own integration plans, with the objective of being completely integrated by 2010. Most local offices will revert to the TNS branding, while in certain countries, including the UK, the company becomes TNS Research International.

The BMRB business will merge with TNS Custom’s UK social sector business to form TNS-BMRB, and will be led by CEO Michelle Harrison.

Parent company Kantar announced the merger of its TNS and Research International businesses in February.
