Tribute to Piers Leonard
Piers was a much-loved colleague and friend who touched people daily with his fierce intellect, dry wit, and interesting jumper/chino combinations.
Piers joined the FACE team full time in 2011 after studying English at Trinity College, Dublin and then living in Paris, Rwanda and Berlin — as he put it, “in search of a bohemian existence”. Emerging into professional life at FACE, he quickly became known for his creativity, intelligence and analytical mind, allowing him to work across projects in social media strategy, FMCG and technology.
A particular talent of his was concept writing, which proved critical in the strategic and commercial success of several innovation projects. Piers was promoted to research manager in 2014 in recognition of his outstanding work, and showed great leadership in mentoring and guiding the new additions to the team.
A total one off, Piers married attitude with a precocious talent, and could have gone on to be anything he wanted to be. He leaves a huge hole in the company, yet his legacy will live on forever. Goodbye Piers, you may have left us but you’ll never, ever be forgotten.
