UK gov't to kick-off research roster review in July, says GPS

UK — The UK government’s long-delayed review of its market research roster, formerly managed by the now defunct Central Office of Information, is due to go ahead in July.

The Government Procurement Service (GPS) said in an update this week that an invitation to tender will be published to OJEU in July 2013 “with the intention to award the framework in January 2014”.

In the meantime, the GPS said it continues to work with Research Councils UK on developing the framework structure and specification.

“There is considerable interest in this sector and it is imperative that we take the time to capture input from a wide range of sources (including professional bodies),” said GPS.

In October, the Market Research Society outlined its preference for a framework agreement that focuses on “procuring research services to address specific business problems within government as opposed to procuring research solely by research methodology”.
