WPP to launch Atlanta campus
The campus will house more than 400 staff and 10 agencies, including AKQA, BCW, EssenceMediacom, GCI Health, GroupM, GTB, Mindshare, Verticurl, VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson.
WPP said the campus would be based in the Old Fourth Ward area of Atlanta near to The Coca-Cola Company’s headquarters and would attempt to create a new hub for Atlanta’s wider technology industry.
As part of the campus’ development, WPP is leasing office space from real estate development company New City in Tower 2 of the new Fourth Ward offices, with plans for a 39,000 square foot conference centre and shops and restaurants.
The Atlanta campus, WPP’s sixth in North America, will use WPP-owned BDG architecture + design to help design the interior office space.
Michael Houston, president at WPP in the US, said: “We are thrilled to provide a new campus for our agencies in the Atlanta community, especially in the Old Fourth Ward neighbourhood which is experiencing unprecedented growth and transformation.
“The Atlanta campus fosters the type of creative environment that will inspire our people, clients and partners alike.”
Jim Irwin, president at New City, said: “We are thrilled and humbled that WPP has selected the Fourth Ward Project for their Atlanta headquarters.
“When we first began work on the master plan, we envisioned it as a place for best-in-class companies, like WPP, to cater to the evolving needs of their workforce and clients.”
