Elizabeth Denham appointed as new Information Commissioner
Denham had been announced as the government’s preferred candidate last month and will take over from incumbent, Christopher Graham, this summer.
A Canadian, she has been Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia since May 2010. In that role she has been a champion of information rights and transparency in government. Prior to that role she was assistant privacy commissioner of Canada.
Graham said: "Elizabeth is an experienced information rights practitioner, essential when the ICO is busier than ever and facing challenges of the digital age."
