Stephan Schmid, who took up the role earlier this year, is a long-standing market research executive.

He joined Sago (previously known as Schlesinger Group) when it snapped up the German fieldwork agency Schmiedl Marktforschung GmbH over 10 years ago. Schlesinger Group rebranded as Sago last year.

Since 2022, Schmid has been working at modular market research services firm Schöttmer – Research Hub in Hamburg as unit director.

His full job title is director/member of management at Quotapoint.

Quotapoint, set up in 1998, is located in Frankfurt, Cologne and Berlin.

It provides a broad sweep of services including project management, in-house recruitment for qualitative and quantitative research, face-to-face and online research with a focus on healthcare and B2B audiences.

It also offers moderation, reporting, translation services and international research studies with local expertise.

Schmid said: "My roots have been in the studio and recruitment business for almost 25 years.

"Nevertheless, the facility business is currently facing major changes, which is a threat and opportunity for existing market players. Quotapoint is a long-term player in the industry actively shaping these developments by offering digital research services and closely monitoring developments in the industry. I look forward to supporting this process and helping to lead Quotapoint into the future."

Stefanie Abele, managing partner, Quotapoint, said: “We are pleased to welcome Stephan Schmid to our team, who will actively support us with his nearly 25 years of experience in the industry to further develop a contemporary service offering."
