Founded in 2006, Karian and Box works with organisations to help them improve their culture and experience for employees, including working on the challenges of transformation programmes and new strategies or leadership teams.

In the last 18 months it has also focused on how workplaces are changing in response to Covid-19.

The business is based in York and employs around 100 people, including advisers, data analysts, occupational psychologists, creatives, developers, and project managers. It posted revenue of £7m in 2020.

Ipsos runs similar practices in markets including France and Germany. The acquisition will boost the company’s employee research and advisory offer in the areas of employee experience, workplace culture, leadership and change management.

Didier Truchot, founder and chairman of Ipsos, said: “We welcome Karian and Box. The challenges facing leaders today are complex and multi-faceted and it’s never been more important to give employees a voice at work.

“Its market-leading approach, advanced analytics and validated approach to measuring culture will further reinforce our offer to clients at a time when it’s most needed.”

Ghassan Karian, chief executive and founder, Karian and Box (pictured), added: “As part of Ipsos, we can build on 15 years of growth to become an even stronger employee research and advisory partner for our clients.”
