Ipsos completes purchase of GfK divisions

FRANCE – Ipsos has completed the acquisition of four global divisions of GfK’s custom research business in a deal worth €105m.

Didier Truchot

The acquisition of GfK’s customer experience, experience innovation, health and public affairs custom research divisions was announced in July 2018. The estimated combined revenue of the businesses for 2018 is over €200m, Ipsos said when the acquisition was first announced.

The conclusion of the deal was subject to a number of approvals, including mandatory anti-trust clearances, which have now been obtained, Ipsos said in a statement.

Almost 1,000 GfK staff will join Ipsos as part of the transaction.

Didier Truchot, founder, chairman and chief executive (pictured), said: "We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of the four global divisions of GfK Custom Research Business that Ipsos will now operate as of today."

Truchot added that the addition of GfK staff will bring Ipsos closer to implementing its ‘Total Understanding’ growth plan.
