Ipsos names new MD for New Zealand

NEW ZEALAND – Ipsos has appointed Nielsen’s Carin Hercock as managing director of Ipsos New Zealand.

Hercock has been executive director of consumer insights at Nielsen’s New Zealand division since 2013. Prior to Nielsen, Hercock worked at media company APN New Zealand (now NZME) for 12 years and has also held client-side marketing positions. She sits on the board of the Research Association of New Zealand.

In her new role, Hercock will lead the company’s Wellington and Auckland offices, with responsibility for strategy, managing senior-level client relationships and building the brand in New Zealand. She will report to Simon Wake, chief executive of Ipsos Australia and New Zealand.

Wake said: "Carin’s experience spans finance to FMCGs, retail to real estate, and manufacturing to media. Carin’s extensive relationships and strong industry networks are a tremendous asset as we progress Ipsos’ determined expansion in the New Zealand market".
