Macfarlane and Steadman join MRS board

UK — Phyllis Macfarlane and Jake Steadman have been elected to the main board of the Market Research Society (MRS).

Macfarlane (pictured), global training director at GfK, served as MRS chairman from 2012-14 and is heavily involved with the educational programmes that the MRS supports in Africa. Steadman is director of international research at Twitter and is a member of the MRS’ Delphi steering group

The two places available for election this year came as a result of Raz Khan and Geoff Gosling stepping down by rotation at the end of their terms.

“We’re thrilled to welcome two such talented individuals to our board," said Jane Frost, CEO of the MRS. "Phyllis’ skills and commitment are well known as a result of her extensive roles with MRS not least as an ex-chair, and Jake’s experience at Twitter is highly relevant to many of the challenges that market researchers are facing in managing big data and using insight to inform commercial strategy.

"They are welcome additions to our team.”
