Mintel partners with Cipher on patent analysis

UK – Market intelligence agency Mintel has gained access to advanced patent analysis in the food & drink and beauty & personal care industries, by joining forces with Cipher.

Patent analysis system Cipher uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse patents globally. The partnership will give Mintel’s global experts advanced warning of new developments and help it predict earlier and more accurately where the consumer packaged goods market is heading.

With this analysis Mintel will now publish regular insights of what pioneering companies are starting to invest in and where new technologies are being developed.

Peter Haigh, Mintel chief executive officer, said: “Working with Cipher will allow our experts to harness the power of AI to understand faster and earlier how the food and drink and beauty and personal care industries could develop, and will help future-proof our clients’ businesses. Currently, companies only have access to very one-dimensional patent analysis.
