Seymour (pictured) has been director of research and evaluation consultancy Seymour Research since 2011. Her background includes survey research, interviews, focus groups, ethnography, documentary analyses and evaluations, working with clients in education, healthcare, government, and the private and third sectors.

Prior to establishing Seymour Research, Seymour worked for the University of Nottingham, the National Foundation for Educational Research and two local authorities.

Seymour will support MEL Research’s efforts in social value and boost its ability to deliver research that has a positive impact on society, the company said.

Ben Thatcher, qualitative research director at MEL Research, said: “Kathy’s extensive experience in qualitative methodologies, coupled with her impressive track record in high-profile evaluations in key sectors for MEL, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our capabilities and deliver exceptional insights to our clients.”
