S4 Capital acquires Italian marketing agency
The acquisition, which was completed for an undisclosed fee, will help expand S4Capital’s media content, digital and data capabilities in Italy.
The founders of Miyagi – chairman Francesco Bragonzi, Francesco Menichini, Tommaso Marucchi, Felice Arborea and Giuseppe Azzone – and its 70 staff will all join Media.Monks following the acquisition.
Miyagi was formed in Milan 2013 and specialises in end-to-end digital experience content strategy, design and production.
Sir Martin Sorrell, executive chairman of S4 Capital, said: “We look forward to developing an even stronger content, practice in Italy to complement our data and digital media practice and form a base for technology services, building on the impressive success Miyagi has already had and broadening our base in western continental Europe.”
Victor Knaap, chief executive at Media.Monks Europe, Middle East and Africa, and executive director at S4 Capital, said: “Miyagi significantly expands our content practice in Italy giving us deeper creative, production and social capabilities which we can put to work immediately for our Italian clients.
“Besides that, Miyagi’s work and management team looks a lot like Media.Monks a few years back, and we got along since the first moment we met.”
